IEBE ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP ASSESSMENT

Guidance for Applicants

Associate Membership will give individuals recognition and status within the sector and demonstrate to external partners that they are working to professional standards.

The Process:

1 Read through the Assessment All the criteria and questions for the Associate Assessment may be viewed in advance on the website. We suggest that you read through these first so you have an understanding of what is involved. You will see that there are 26 questions in total which cover knowledge, understanding and abilities relating to education business work and guidance for each question to help you through the process.
2 Complete Registration Form In order to take the assessment you will first need to complete the registration form on the website (Associate Registration).
3 Invoice issued There is a payment of £110 on registration. This can be paid by an individual or their employing organisation and includes one year’s membership of IEBE which commences at the date of registration. This will be at Affiliate status until you have been approved by the Assessors as an Associate Level Member.
4 Registration Number Allocated One you have completed your registration your payment will be processed and you will be issued with a registration number. You will need to use this registration number on your Associate Level Membership Assessment Form.
5 Complete Assessment Form While you are completing the questions, you may stop and complete further research at any time, providing you save your work. This is because the process has been deliberately designed to aid your professional development.
6 Submit Once you have checked and are satisfied with your answers and that you have completed ALL questions you should submit your document.

Following Submission

Your work will be reviewed by a trained assessor whose work is sampled by a lead assessor to ensure consistency. All of the assessors are highly experienced in the education business sector, and most are already assessors for other schemes, including AEBE.

You should usually hear within a maximum of 6 weeks whether your submission has been successful. If it has then you will receive a certificate and be entitled to use the post nominal, AIEBE after your name (Associate of the Institute for Education Business Excellence.) Your Associate Level Status will remain valid for three years, providing you renew your membership annually.

If the assessor considers that there are some areas which you need to research further you will be advised accordingly and can then resubmit your form within 2 calendar months for a further fee of £25. If you wish to resubmit after this there will be a further charge of £75 which is the full cost of the Assessment process. In the unlikely event of any dispute at any stage there is an appeals procedure through the

Lead assessor, the QA working group and ultimately through the IEBE Board.
