The Institute for Education Business Excellence (IEBE) is a professional body, dedicated to promoting the highest possible standards in Education Business Partnership Organisations (EBPOs).

The IEBE uniquely brings together brokers, educationalists and employers to focus on creating real opportunities for young learners to develop the skills they need for adult life.

The IEBE offers those working in the field of education business partnership the opportunity to gain professional status and development to help them to share practice, innovate and lead change.

The IEBE gives the profession a voice with government, influencing policy and decision makers at the highest levels.

Built on the solid groundwork of the National Education Business Partnership Network, the IEBE has support from education, business, practitioners, brokerage organisations and national and local government.

Our Vision & Mission
Our vision is for sustainable partnerships between education and business that genuinely improve outcomes for young learners and prepare them for adult life.

Our mission is to ensure that all who work in the field have the knowledge, skills and capacity to create those successful partnerships.

At the heart of effective partnerships between business and education are ‘brilliant brokers’ – people and organisations with the knowledge and skills to bring both partners together in mutually beneficial relationships.

Why is the IEBE important?
Work-related learning is becoming increasingly critical in providing motivating and relevant learning opportunities for young people, and helping them to develop the skills they need for a successful adult life.

The National Council for Educational Excellence (NCEE)  has recommended a new framework of links between education and business, encompassing learning, leadership and management.  It has also recommended the development of ‘brilliant brokerage’ to support those links.

The IEBE, as a full professional body, supports everybody working in the field, and helps to implement the NCEE recommendations.

Who is it for?

The IEBE is aimed at everybody who works in any aspect of pre-19 education business partnership. Members include: education business brokers; education managers in business and local authorities; school and college staff responsible for employer engagement.
